When the flavor begins to degrade or if you feel a slight heat in your mouth, it's time to change the resistance. To do this, unscrew the tank and the resistance from the base. Then, screw a new resistance onto the base and screw the whole thing back onto the tank. You do not need to empty the tank for this process. Make sure to prime the new resistance properly by drawing several times through the drip tip during the first fill. You can also close the adjustable airflow as much as possible to facilitate the rise of the liquid into the wicks. A poor prime can result in a burnt taste.
